Then Balak'sangerburnedagainstBalaam,and he struckhis handstogether;and Balaksaidto Balaam,"I calledyou to cursemy enemies,but behold,you have persistedin blessingthem thesethreetimes!
becausethey did not meetthe sonsof Israelwith breadand water,but hiredBalaamagainstthem to cursethem. However, our Godturnedthe curseinto a blessing.
"[Men] will claptheir handsat him And will hisshim from his place.
"You therefore, sonof man,prophesyand clap[your] handstogether;and let the swordbe doubledthe thirdtime,the swordfor the slain.It is the swordfor the greatoneslain,which surroundsthem,
"I will alsoclapMy handstogether,and I will appeaseMy wrath;I, the LORD,have spoken."
"Behold,then, I smiteMy handat your dishonestgainwhichyou have acquiredand at the bloodshedwhichis amongyou.
Behold,there is a peoplewho cameout of Egyptand they coverthe surfaceof the land;nowcome,cursethem for me; perhapsI may be ableto fightagainst them and drivethem out.'"
for I will indeedhonoryou richly,and I will dowhateveryou sayto me. Pleasecomethen, cursethispeoplefor me.'"

Then Balaksaidto Balaam,"Whathave you doneto me? I tookyou to cursemy enemies,but behold,you have actuallyblessedthem!"
"Therefore, fleeto your placenow.I saidI would honoryou greatly,but behold,the LORDhas heldyou backfrom honor."
"He couches,he liesdownas a lion,And as a lion,whodares rousehim? Blessedis everyone who blessesyou, And cursedis everyone who cursesyou."
"Thishappenedthree times,and everythingwas drawnbackup into the sky.
"You shall neverseektheir peaceor their prosperityallyour days.
