Balaamrepliedto the servantsof Balak,"ThoughBalakwere to giveme his housefullof silverand gold,I couldnot doanything, either smallorgreat,contraryto the commandof the LORDmy God.
So Balaamsaidto Balak,"Behold,I have comenowto you! Am I ableto speakanythingat all? The wordthat Godputsin my mouth,that I shall speak."
He cameto him, and behold,he was standingbesidehis burntoffering,and the leadersof Moabwith him. And Balaksaidto him, "Whathas the LORDspoken?"
Then Balaksaidto Balaam,"Do not cursethem at allnorblessthem at all!"
Then Balaksaidto Balaam,"Pleasecome,I will takeyou to anotherplace;perhapsit will be agreeablewith Godthat you cursethem for me from there."
Then Balaamsaidto Balak,"Standbesideyour burntoffering,and I will go;perhapsthe LORDwill cometo meetme, and whateverHe showsme I will tellyou." So he wentto a barehill.
But Peterand the apostlesanswered,"We mustobeyGodratherthanmen.
