Balaamrepliedto the servantsof Balak,"ThoughBalakwere to giveme his housefullof silverand gold,I couldnot doanything, either smallorgreat,contraryto the commandof the LORDmy God.
But the manof Godsaidto the king,"Ifyou were to giveme halfyour houseI would not gowith you, norwould I eatbreador drinkwaterin thisplace.
But Micaiahsaid,"As the LORDlives,whatthe LORDsaysto me, that I shall speak."
But Micaiahsaid,"As the LORDlives,whatmy Godsays,that I will speak."
Orwith princeswho had gold,Who were fillingtheir houses[with] silver.
ThenDanielansweredand saidbeforethe king,"Keep your giftsfor yourself or giveyour rewardsto someoneelse;however,I will readthe inscriptionto the kingand makethe interpretationknownto him.
"Nowplease,you alsostayheretonight,and I will findout whatelsethe LORDwill speakto me."
So Balaamsaidto Balak,"Behold,I have comenowto you! Am I ableto speakanythingat all? The wordthat Godputsin my mouth,that I shall speak."
He saidto them, "Spendthe nighthere,and I will bringwordbackto you as the LORDmay speakto me." And the leadersof Moabstayedwith Balaam.
But Balaamrepliedto Balak,"Did I not tellyou, 'Whateverthe LORDspeaks,that I must do'?"
Balaamsaidto Balak,"Did I not tellyour messengerswhomyou had sentto me, saying,
ThoughBalakwere to giveme his housefullof silverand gold,I couldnot doanything contraryto the commandof the LORD,either goodorbad,of my own accord.Whatthe LORDspeaks,that I will speak'?
But Petersaidto him, "May your silverperishwith you, becauseyou thoughtyou could obtainthe giftof Godwith money!
They professto knowGod,but by [their] deedsthey deny[Him], beingdetestableand disobedientand worthlessfor anygooddeed.
But I was not willingto listento Balaam.So he hadto blessyou, and I deliveredyou from his hand.
