they proceededto cometo Mosesand Aaronand to allthe congregationof the sonsof Israelin the wildernessof Paran,at Kadesh;and they broughtbackwordto them and to allthe congregationand showedthem the fruitof the land.
Then they turnedbackand cameto En-mishpat(that is, Kadesh),and conqueredallthe countryof the Amalekites,and alsothe Amorites,who livedin Hazazon-tamar.
The voiceof the LORDshakesthe wilderness;The LORDshakesthe wildernessof Kadesh.
When they returnedfrom spyingout the land,at the endof fortydays,
So Mosessentthem from the wildernessof Paranat the commandof the LORD,allof them menwho were headsof the sonsof Israel.
Then the sonsof Israel,the wholecongregation,cameto the wildernessof Zinin the firstmonth;and the peoplestayedat Kadesh.Now Miriamdiedthereand was buriedthere.
From KadeshMosesthen sentmessengersto the kingof Edom:"Thusyour brotherIsraelhas said,You knowallthe hardshipthat has befallenus;
But when we criedout to the LORD,He heardour voiceand sentan angeland broughtus out from Egypt;now behold,we are at Kadesh,a townon the edgeof your territory.
"Thisis whatyour fathersdidwhen I sentthem from Kadesh-barneato seethe land.
"For when they wentup to the valleyof Eshcoland sawthe land,they discouragedthe sonsof Israelso that they did not gointo the landwhichthe LORDhad giventhem.
They journeyedfrom Ezion-geberand campedin the wildernessof Zin,that is, Kadesh.
"Then we setout from Horeb,and wentthrough allthat greatand terriblewildernesswhichyou sawon the wayto the hillcountryof the Amorites,justas the LORDour Godhad commandedus; and we cameto Kadesh-barnea.
It is elevendays'[journey] from Horebby the wayof MountSeirto Kadesh-barnea.
Then the sonsof Judahdrewnearto Joshuain Gilgal,and Calebthe sonof Jephunnehthe Kenizzitesaidto him, "You knowthe wordwhichthe LORDspoketo Mosesthe manof Godconcerningyou and me in Kadesh-barnea.
"I was fortyyearsoldwhen Mosesthe servantof the LORDsentme from Kadesh-barneato spyout the land,and I broughtwordbackto him as [it was] in my heart.
