But he saidto him, "I will not come,but ratherwill goto my [own] landand relatives."
Now the LORDsaidto Abram,"Goforth from your country,And from your relativesAnd from your father'shouse,To the landwhichI will showyou;
"Nowyou have indeedgoneaway becauseyou longedgreatlyfor your father'shouse;[but] whydid you stealmy gods?"
Listen,O daughter,giveattentionand inclineyour ear:Forgetyour peopleand your father'shouse;
Then Mosesbadehis father-in-lawfarewell,and he wenthis way into his own land.
"But whatdo you think?A manhadtwosons,and he cameto the firstand said,Son,goworktodayin the vineyard.'
"And he answered,'I will not'; but afterwardhe regrettedit and went.
"Ifanyonecomesto Me, and does not hatehis own fatherand motherand wifeand childrenand brothersand sisters,yes,and evenhis ownlife,he cannotbe My disciple.
Thereforefrom nowon we recognizeno oneaccordingto the flesh;eventhoughwe have knownChristaccordingto the flesh,yetnowwe know[Him] [in this way] no longer.
Allthesediedin faith,withoutreceivingthe promises,but having seenthem and having welcomedthem from a distance,and having confessedthat they were strangersand exileson the earth.
By faithAbraham,when he was called,obeyedby goingout to a placewhichhe was to receivefor an inheritance;and he wentout, not knowingwherehe was going.
The descendantsof the Kenite,Moses'father-in-law,wentup from the cityof palmswith the sonsof Judah,to the wildernessof Judahwhichis in the southof Arad;and they wentand livedwith the people.
