Ezraopenedthe bookin the sightof allthe peoplefor he was standing aboveallthe people;and when he openedit, allthe peoplestoodup.
"DavidhimselfcallsHim 'Lord;soin what senseis He his son?"And the largecrowdenjoyedlisteningto Him.
and they could not findanythingthat they might do,for allthe peoplewere hangingon to everyword He said.
"Sotake carehowyou listen;for whoeverhas,to him [more] shall be given;and whoeverdoes not have,evenwhathe thinkshe hasshall be taken awayfrom him."
Afterthe readingof the Lawand the Prophetsthe synagogue officialssentto them, saying,"Brethren,ifyou have anywordof exhortationfor the people,sayit."
"For thosewho livein Jerusalem,and their rulers,recognizingneither Him northe utterancesof the prophetswhich are readeverySabbath,fulfilled[these] by condemning[Him].
"For Mosesfrom ancientgenerationshasin everycitythosewho preachhim, since he is readin the synagogueseverySabbath."
A womannamedLydia,from the cityof Thyatira,a seller of purple fabrics,a worshiperof God,was listening;and the Lordopenedher heartto respondto the things spokenby Paul.
Nowthesewere more noble-mindedthan thosein Thessalonica,for they receivedthe wordwith greateagerness,examiningthe Scripturesdaily[to see] whetherthese thingswere so.
When he had gone[back] up and had brokenthe breadand eaten,he talkedwith them a long whileuntildaybreak,and thenleft.
On the firstday of the week,when we were gathered togetherto breakbread,Paul[began] talkingto them, intendingto leavethe next day,and he prolongedhis messageuntilmidnight.
When they had seta dayfor Paul, they cameto him at his lodgingin large numbers;and he was explainingto them by solemnly testifyingabout the kingdomof Godand trying to persuadethem concerningJesus,from boththe Lawof Mosesand from the Prophets,from morninguntilevening.
So Moseswrotethislawand gaveit to the priests,the sonsof Leviwho carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORD,and to allthe eldersof Israel.
For thisreasonwe alsoconstantlythankGodthat when you receivedthe wordof Godwhichyou heardfrom us, you accepted[it] not [as] the wordof men,but [for] whatit reallyis, the wordof God,whichalsoperforms its workin you who believe.
There was not a wordof allthat Moseshad commandedwhichJoshuadid not readbeforeallthe assemblyof Israelwith the womenand the littleonesand the strangerswho were livingamongthem.
