For the sonsof Israeland the sonsof Levishall bringthe contributionof the grain,the newwineand the oilto the chambers;thereare the utensilsof the sanctuary,the priestswho are ministering,the gatekeepersand the singers.Thus we will not neglectthe houseof our God.
So they cameand calledto the gatekeepersof the city,and they toldthem, saying,"We cameto the campof the Arameans,and behold,therewas noonethere,northe voiceof man,onlythe horsestiedand the donkeystied,and the tentsjustas they were."
Then Hezekiahcommanded[them] to prepareroomsin the houseof the LORD,and they prepared[them].
They faithfullybroughtin the contributionsand the tithesand the consecratedthings;and Conaniahthe Levite[was] the officerin chargeof them and his brotherShimei[was] second.
So allIsraelin the daysof Zerubbabeland Nehemiahgavethe portionsdue the singersand the gatekeepersas eachdayrequired,and setapartthe consecrated[portion] for the Levites,and the Levitessetapartthe consecrated[portion] for the sonsof Aaron.
For the sakeof the houseof the LORDour God,I will seekyour good.
"Moreover, you shall speakto the Levitesand sayto them, 'Whenyou takefrom the sonsof Israelthe tithewhichI have givenyou from them for your inheritance,then you shall presentan offeringfrom it to the LORD,a titheof the tithe.
"You shall sayto them, 'When you have offeredfrom it the bestof it, then [the rest] shall be reckonedto the Levitesas the productof the threshingfloor,and as the productof the winevat.
"You are not allowedto eatwithin your gatesthe titheof your grainor newwineor oil,or the firstbornof your herdor flock,or anyof your votiveofferingswhichyou vow,or your freewillofferings,or the contributionof your hand.
not forsakingour ownassembling together,as is the habitof some,but encouraging[one another]; and allthe moreas you seethe daydrawing near.
