From that timeJesusbeganto showHis disciplesthat He mustgoto Jerusalem,and suffermany thingsfrom the eldersand chief priestsand scribes,and be killed,and be raisedup on the thirdday.
and they will killHim, and He will be raisedon the thirdday."And they were deeplygrieved.
As they were coming downfrom the mountain,Jesuscommandedthem, saying, "Tellthe visionto no oneuntilthe Sonof Manhas risenfrom the dead."
and will handHim over to the Gentilesto mockand scourgeand crucify[Him], and on the thirddayHe will be raisedup."
and said,"Sir,we rememberthat when He was stillalivethat deceiversaid,AfterthreedaysI [am to] rise again.'
And he saidto them, "Do not be amazed;you are lookingfor Jesusthe Nazarene,who has been crucified.He has risen;He is not here;behold,[here is] the placewherethey laidHim.
And He beganto teachthem that the Sonof Manmustsuffermany thingsand be rejectedby the eldersand the chief priestsand the scribes,and be killed,and afterthreedaysrise again.
But Petergotup and ranto the tomb;stooping and lookingin, he sawthe linen wrappingsonly;and he went awayto his home,marvelingat whathad happened.
and did not findHis body,they came,sayingthat they had alsoseena visionof angelswhosaidthat He was alive.
NowHe saidto them, "Theseare My wordswhichI spoketo you while I was stillwith you, that all thingswhich are writtenaboutMe in the Lawof Mosesand the Prophetsand the Psalmsmustbe fulfilled."
"For thisreasonthe FatherlovesMe, becauseI lay downMy lifesothat I may takeit again.
Jesusansweredthem, "Destroythistemple,and in threedaysI will raiseit up."
"But Godraised Him up again,putting an endto the agonyof death,sinceit was impossiblefor Him to be heldin its power.
