Nowthe namesof the twelveapostlesare these:The first,Simon,who is calledPeter,and Andrewhis brother;and Jamesthe son of Zebedee,and Johnhis brother;
Whenthey had entered[the city], they wentup to the upper roomwherethey were staying;that is, Peterand Johnand Jamesand Andrew,Philipand Thomas,Bartholomewand Matthew,James[the son] of Alphaeus,and Simonthe Zealot,and Judas[the] [son] of James.
Goingon from thereHe sawtwootherbrothers,Jamesthe [son] of Zebedee,and Johnhis brother,in the boatwith Zebedeetheir father,mendingtheir nets;and He calledthem.
Philipcameand toldAndrew;Andrewand Philipcameand toldJesus.
Oneof His disciples,Andrew,SimonPeter'sbrother,saidto Him,
and soalso[were] Jamesand John,sonsof Zebedee,whowere partnerswith Simon.And Jesussaidto Simon,"Do not fear,from nowon you will be catchingmen."
Now as Jesus was walkingby the Seaof Galilee,He sawtwobrothers,Simonwho was calledPeter,and Andrewhis brother,castinga netinto the sea;for they were fishermen.
"For thisreasonalsothe wisdomof Godsaid,I will sendto them prophetsand apostles,and [some] of them they will killand [some] they will persecute,
I, John,your brotherand fellow partakerin the tribulationand kingdomand perseverance[which are] in Jesus,was on the islandcalledPatmosbecauseof the wordof Godand the testimonyof Jesus.
The elderto the chosenladyand her children,whomI lovein truth;and not onlyI, but alsoallwho knowthe truth,
SimonPeter,a bond-servantand apostleof JesusChrist,To thosewho have receiveda faithof the same kindas ours,by the righteousnessof our Godand Savior,JesusChrist:
Peter,an apostleof JesusChrist,To those who reside as aliens,scattered throughoutPontus,Galatia,Cappadocia,Asia,and Bithynia,who are chosen
Therefore,holybrethren,partakersof a heavenlycalling,considerJesus,the Apostleand High Priestof our confession;
And He gavesome[as] apostles,and some[as] prophets,and some[as] evangelists,and some[as] pastorsand teachers,
thenHe appearedto James,thento allthe apostles;
And he had Jamesthe brotherof Johnput to deathwith a sword.
NowPeterand Johnwere goingup to the templeat the ninth[hour], the hourof prayer.
And they drewlotsfor them, and the lotfellto Matthias;and he was addedto the elevenapostles.
Thisis the disciplewho is testifyingto these thingsand wrotethese things,and we knowthat his testimonyis true.
Peter,turning around,sawthe disciplewhomJesuslovedfollowing[them]; the one whoalsohad leaned backon His bosomat the supperand said,"Lord,whois the one who betraysYou?"
SimonPeter,and ThomascalledDidymus,and Nathanaelof Canain Galilee,and the [sons] of Zebedee,and twoothersof His discipleswere together.
Soshe ranand cameto SimonPeterand to the otherdisciplewhomJesusloved,and saidto them, "They have taken awaythe Lordout of the tomb,and we do not knowwherethey have laidHim."
There was recliningon Jesus'bosomoneof His disciples,whomJesusloved.
Whenthe hourhad come,He reclined[at the table], and the apostleswith Him.
And Jesus sentPeterand John,saying,"Goand preparethe Passoverfor us, sothat we may eatit."
When the apostlesreturned,they gave an accountto Him of allthat they had done.Takingthem with Him, He withdrewby Himselfto a citycalledBethsaida.
As He was sittingon the Mountof Olivesoppositethe temple,Peterand Jamesand Johnand Andrewwere questioningHim privately,
And immediatelyafter they cameout of the synagogue,they cameinto the houseof Simonand Andrew,with Jamesand John.
And He tookwith Him Peterand the twosonsof Zebedee,and beganto be grievedand distressed.
Thenthe motherof the sonsof Zebedeecameto Jesus with her sons,bowing downand making a requestof Him.
SixdayslaterJesustookwith Him Peterand Jamesand Johnhis brother,and ledthem up on a highmountainby themselves.
I, John,am the one who heardand sawthese things.And whenI heardand saw,I fell downto worshipat the feetof the angelwho showedme these things.
The Revelationof JesusChrist,whichGodgaveHim to showto His bond-servants,the things whichmustsoontake place;and He sentand communicated[it] by His angelto His bond-servantJohn,
The elderto the belovedGaius,whomI lovein truth.
"Rejoiceoverher, O heaven,and you saintsand apostlesand prophets,becauseGodhas pronouncedjudgmentfor you againsther."
The apostlesgathered togetherwith Jesus;and they reportedto Him allthat they had doneand taught.
SoJesussaidto the twelve,"You do not wantto go awayalso,do you?"
Jesusansweredthem, "Did I Myselfnot chooseyou, the twelve,and [yet] oneof you is a devil?"
NowHe meantJudas[the son] of SimonIscariot,for he, oneof the twelve,was goingto betrayHim.
