and lookingup to heavenwith a deep sigh,He saidto him, "Ephphatha!"that is, "Be opened!"
Now it cameabout in [the course of] thosemanydaysthat the kingof Egyptdied.And the sonsof Israelsighedbecauseof the bondage,and they criedout; and their cryfor helpbecauseof [their] bondageroseup to God.
He was despisedand forsakenof men,A manof sorrowsand acquaintedwith grief;And like one from whom men hidetheir faceHe was despised,and we did not esteemHim.
Moved with compassion,Jesus stretchedout His handand touchedhim, and saidto him, "I am willing;be cleansed."
At the ninthhourJesuscriedout with a loudvoice,"ELOI,ELOI,LAMASABACHTHANI?"whichis translated,"MY GOD,MY GOD,WHYHAVE YOU FORSAKENME?"
Takingthe childby the hand,He saidto her, "Talithakum!"(whichtranslatedmeans,"Little girl,I sayto you, getup!").
And He tookthe fiveloavesand the twofish,and lookingup towardheaven,He blessed[the food] and brokethe loavesand He kept giving[them] to the disciplesto set beforethem; and He dividedup the twofishamong them all.
And his earswere opened,and the impedimentof his tonguewas removed,and he [began] speakingplainly.
Sighing deeplyin His spirit,He said,"Whydoes thisgenerationseekfor a sign?TrulyI sayto you, nosignwill be givento thisgeneration."
And Jesussaidto him, "Receive your sight;your faithhas made you well."
WhenHe approached[Jerusalem], He sawthe cityand weptoverit,
And He cameup and touchedthe coffin;and the bearerscame to a halt.And He said,"Young man,I sayto you, arise!"
WhenJesusthereforesawher weeping,and the Jewswho camewith her [also] weeping,He was deeply movedin spiritand was troubled,
Jesuswept.
SoJesus,againbeing deeply movedwithin,cameto the tomb.Nowit was a cave,and a stonewas lyingagainstit.
Sothey removedthe stone.ThenJesusraisedHis eyes,and said,"Father,I thankYou that You have heardMe.
When He had saidthese things,He criedout with a loudvoice,"Lazarus,comeforth."
Jesusspokethese things;and liftingup His eyesto heaven,He said,"Father,the hourhas come;glorifyYour Son,that the Sonmay glorifyYou,
Petersaidto him, "Aeneas,JesusChristhealsyou; getup and make your bed."Immediatelyhe gotup.
But Petersentthem allout and kneltdownand prayed,and turningto the body,he said,"Tabitha,arise."And she openedher eyes,and when she sawPeter,she satup.
For we do not havea high priestwhocannotsympathizewith our weaknesses,but One whohas been temptedin all thingsas [we are, yet] withoutsin.
