The birdsof preycamedownupon the carcasses,and Abramdrovethem away.
"When anyonehearsthe wordof the kingdomand does not understandit, the evil[one] comesand snatches awaywhathas been sownin his heart.Thisis the one on whom seed was sownbesidethe road.
and as he sowed,some[seeds] fellbesidethe road,and the birdscameand atethem up.
"Theseare the ones whoare besidethe roadwherethe wordis sown;and whenthey hear,immediatelySatancomesand takes awaythe wordwhich has been sownin them.
"Listen[to this]! Behold,the sowerwentout to sow;
"Other[seed] fellon the rocky[ground] whereit did not havemuchsoil;and immediatelyit sprangup becauseit hadnodepthof soil.
"Thosebesidethe roadare thosewho have heard;thenthe devilcomesand takes awaythe wordfrom their heart,sothat they will not believeand be saved.
"The sowerwentout to sowhis seed;and as he sowed,somefellbesidethe road,and it was trampled under footand the birdsof the airateit up.
