Moved with compassion,Jesus stretchedout His handand touchedhim, and saidto him, "I am willing;be cleansed."
Then Godsaid,"Let there be light";and there was light.
For He spoke,and it was done;He commanded,and it stoodfast.
Seeingthe people,He felt compassionfor them, becausethey were distressedand dispiritedlikesheepwithouta shepherd.
And a lepercameto Jesus, beseechingHim and falling on his knees beforeHim, and saying,"IfYou are willing,You canmake me clean."
Immediatelythe leprosylefthim and he was cleansed.
And He gotup and rebukedthe windand saidto the sea,"Hush,be still."And the winddied downand it becameperfectlycalm.
Takingthe childby the hand,He saidto her, "Talithakum!"(whichtranslatedmeans,"Little girl,I sayto you, getup!").
When Jesus went ashore,He sawa largecrowd,and He felt compassionfor them becausethey were likesheepwithouta shepherd;and He beganto teachthem many things.
And He is the radianceof His gloryand the exact representationof His nature,and upholdsall thingsby the wordof His power.When He had madepurificationof sins,He sat downat the right handof the Majestyon high,
Therefore,He hadto be made likeHis brethrenin all things,sothat He might becomea mercifuland faithfulhigh priestin things pertainingto God,to make propitiationfor the sinsof the people.
For we do not havea high priestwhocannotsympathizewith our weaknesses,but One whohas been temptedin all thingsas [we are, yet] withoutsin.
