And He cameup and touchedthe coffin;and the bearerscame to a halt.And He said,"Young man,I sayto you, arise!"
Then he stretchedhimself upon the childthreetimes,and calledto the LORDand said,"O LORDmy God,I prayYou, let thischild'slifereturnto him."
The LORDheardthe voiceof Elijah,and the lifeof the childreturnedto him and he revived.
So manliesdownand does not rise.Untilthe heavensare nolonger,He will not awakenorbe arousedout of his sleep.
"Ifa mandies,will he live[again]? Allthe daysof my struggleI will waitUntilmy changecomes.
For He spoke,and it was done;He commanded,and it stoodfast.
Your deadwill live;Their corpseswill rise.You who liein the dust,awakeand shoutfor joy,For your dew[is as] the dewof the dawn,And the earthwill givebirthto the departedspirits.
Takingthe childby the hand,He saidto her, "Talithakum!"(whichtranslatedmeans,"Little girl,I sayto you, getup!").
When the Lordsawher, He felt compassionfor her, and saidto her, "Do not weep."
The dead mansatup and beganto speak.And [Jesus] gavehim back to his mother.
ThisreportconcerningHim wentout alloverJudeaand in allthe surrounding district.
Jesussaidto her, "I amthe resurrectionand the life;he who believesin Me will liveeven ifhe dies,
"For justas the Fatherraisesthe deadand givesthem life,evensothe Sonalsogives lifeto whomHe wishes.
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, an houris comingand nowis, whenthe deadwill hearthe voiceof the Sonof God,and thosewho hearwill live.
(as it is written,"A FATHEROF MANYNATIONSHAVE I MADEYOU") in the presenceof Him whomhe believed,[even] God,who gives lifeto the deadand callsinto being that which does not exist.
for it is disgracefulevento speakof the things which are doneby them in secret.
