It was at thistimethat He went offto the mountainto pray,and He spent the whole nightin prayerto God.
O my God,I cryby day,but You do not answer;And by night,but I have norest.
At nightmy soullongsfor You, Indeed,my spiritwithinme seeksYou diligently;For whenthe earthexperiences Your judgmentsThe inhabitantsof the worldlearnrighteousness.
Now whenDanielknewthat the documentwas signed,he enteredhis house(now in his roofchamberhe had windowsopentowardJerusalem);and he continued kneelingon his kneesthreetimesa day,prayingand givingthanksbeforehis God,as he had been doingpreviously.
When Jesus sawthe crowds,He wentup on the mountain;and after He sat down,His disciplescameto Him.
"But you, whenyou pray,gointo your inner room,closeyour doorand prayto your Fatherwhois in secret,and your Fatherwhosees[what is done] in secretwill rewardyou.
In the early morning,whileit was stilldark,Jesus gotup, left [the house], and went awayto a secludedplace,and was prayingthere.
And He wentup on the mountainand summonedthose whomHe Himselfwanted,and they cameto Him.
After bidding them farewell,He leftfor the mountainto pray.
But Jesus Himselfwould [often] slip awayto the wildernessand pray.
But they themselveswere filledwith rage,and discussedtogetherwhatthey might doto Jesus.
Jesus came downwith them and stoodon a levelplace;and [there was] a largecrowdof His disciples,and a greatthrongof peoplefrom allJudeaand Jerusalemand the coastal regionof Tyreand Sidon,
And it happenedthat whileHe was prayingalone,the discipleswere with Him, and He questionedthem, saying,"Whodo the peoplesaythat I am?"
Someeightdaysafterthesesayings,He took alongPeterand Johnand James,and wentup on the mountainto pray.
And whileHe was praying,the appearanceof His facebecamedifferent,and His clothing[became] white[and] gleaming.
ThenJesuswentup on the mountain,and thereHe sat downwith His disciples.
Devote yourselvesto prayer,keeping alertin it with [an attitude of] thanksgiving;
In the daysof His flesh,He offeredup bothprayersand supplicationswith loudcryingand tearsto the One ableto saveHim from death,and He was heardbecauseof His piety.
"I regretthat I have madeSaulking,for he has turnedbackfrom followingMe and has not carriedout My commands."And Samuelwas distressedand criedout to the LORDallnight.
