But Jesuswas saying,"Father,forgivethem; for they do not knowwhatthey are doing."And they castlots,dividingup His garmentsamongthemselves.
Thusyou shall sayto Joseph,"Pleaseforgive,I begyou, the transgressionof your brothersand their sin,for they didyou wrong."'And now,pleaseforgivethe transgressionof the servantsof the Godof your father."And Josephweptwhen they spoketo him.
They dividemy garmentsamong them, And for my clothingthey castlots.
Therefore,I will allotHim a portionwith the great,And He will dividethe bootywith the strong;BecauseHe pouredout Himselfto death,And was numberedwith the transgressors;Yet He Himselfborethe sinof many,And intercededfor the transgressors.
At that timeJesussaid,"I praiseYou, Father,Lordof heavenand earth,that You have hiddenthese thingsfrom [the] wiseand intelligentand have revealedthem to infants.
"Yes,Father,for this waywas well-pleasingin Your sight.
"But I sayto you, loveyour enemiesand prayfor thosewho persecuteyou,
And they crucifiedHim, and dividedup His garmentsamongthemselves, castinglotsfor them [to decide] whateachmanshould take.
saying,"Father,ifYou are willing,removethiscupfrom Me; yetnot My will,but Yoursbe done."
"I askon their behalf;I do not askon behalfof the world,but of those whomYou have givenMe; for they are Yours;
Jesusanswered,"You would havenoauthorityoverMe, unlessit had beengivenyou from above;for thisreasonhe who deliveredMe to you has[the] greatersin."
But Paulcriedout with a loudvoice,saying,"Donot harmyourself,for we are allhere!"
"And now,brethren,I knowthat you actedin ignorance,justas your rulersdid also.
Thenfallingon his knees,he criedout with a loudvoice,"Lord,do not holdthissinagainst them!" Having saidthis,he fell asleep.
Blessthosewho persecuteyou; blessand do not curse.
[the wisdom] whichnoneof the rulersof thisagehas understood;for ifthey had understoodit they would not have crucifiedthe Lordof glory;
and we toil,workingwith our ownhands;when we are reviled,we bless;when we are persecuted,we endure;
even though I was formerlya blasphemerand a persecutorand a violent aggressor.YetI was shown mercybecauseI actedignorantlyin unbelief;
not returningevilfor evilorinsultfor insult,but giving a blessinginstead;for you were calledfor the verypurpose that you might inherita blessing.
