"But when the vine-growerssawhim, they reasonedwith one another,saying,'Thisis the heir;let us killhim sothat the inheritancewill be ours.'
Askof Me, and I will surely givethe nationsas Your inheritance,And the [very] endsof the earthas Your possession.
"I alsoshall makehim [My] firstborn,The highestof the kingsof the earth.
They began to discuss[this] amongthemselves,saying,"[He said that] becausewe did not bring[any] bread."
"The baptismof Johnwas from what[source], from heavenorfrom men?"And they [began] reasoningamongthemselves,saying,"Ifwe say,'From heaven,'He will sayto us, 'Thenwhydid you not believehim?'
"Whenthe harvesttimeapproached,he senthis slavesto the vine-growersto receivehis produce.
And He was teachingdailyin the temple;but the chief priestsand the scribesand the leading menamong the peoplewere tryingto destroyHim,
"The ownerof the vineyardsaid,'Whatshall I do?I will sendmy belovedson;perhapsthey will respecthim.'
"Sothey threwhim out of the vineyardand killedhim. What,then,will the ownerof the vineyarddoto them?
The scribesand the chief prieststriedto layhandson Him that veryhour,and they fearedthe people;for they understoodthat He spokethisparableagainstthem.
They reasonedamongthemselves,saying,"Ifwe say,'From heaven,'He will say,'Whydid you not believehim?'
The chief priestsand the scribeswere seekinghowthey might put Him to death;for they were afraidof the people.
this[Man], deliveredover by the predeterminedplanand foreknowledgeof God,you nailed to a crossby the handsof godless menand put [Him] to death.
but put to deaththe Princeof life,[the one] whomGodraisedfrom the dead,[a fact] to whichwe are witnesses.
and ifchildren,heirsalso,heirsof Godand fellow heirswith Christ,if indeedwe sufferwith [Him] sothat we may alsobe glorifiedwith [Him].
in theselastdayshas spokento us in His Son,whomHe appointedheirof all things,throughwhomalsoHe madethe world.
