"And I sayto you, makefriendsfor yourselvesby meansof the wealthof unrighteousness,sothat whenit fails,they will receiveyou into the eternaldwellings.
Jesussaidto him, "Ifyou wishto be complete,go[and] sellyour possessionsand giveto [the] poor,and you will havetreasurein heaven;and come,followMe."
"No onecanservetwomasters;for eitherhe will hatethe oneand lovethe other,orhe will be devotedto oneand despisethe other.You cannotserveGodand wealth.
Therefore,O king,may my advicebe pleasingto you: breakawaynow from your sinsby [doing] righteousnessand from your iniquitiesby showingmercyto [the] poor,in casethere may be a prolongingof your prosperity.'
"Thereforeifyou have not beenfaithfulin the [use of] unrighteouswealth,whowill entrustthe true [riches] to you?
One who is graciousto a poormanlendsto the LORD,And He will repayhim for his gooddeed.
and you will be blessed,sincethey do not have[the means] to repayyou; for you will be repaidat the resurrectionof the righteous."
"Sellyour possessionsand giveto charity;makeyourselvesmoney beltswhich do not wearout, an unfailingtreasurein heaven,wherenothiefcomes nearnormothdestroys.
"But givethat which is withinas charity,and thenall thingsare cleanfor you.
For momentary,lightafflictionis producingfor us an eternalweightof gloryfarbeyondall comparison,
"Noservantcanservetwomasters;for eitherhe will hatethe oneand lovethe other,or elsehe will be devotedto oneand despisethe other.You cannotserveGodand wealth."
and he said,'Cornelius,your prayerhas been heardand your almshave been rememberedbeforeGod.
"Do not storeup for yourselvestreasureson earth,wheremothand rustdestroy,and wherethievesbreakin and steal.
keepyourselvesin the loveof God,waiting anxiouslyfor the mercyof our LordJesusChristto eternallife.
And fixing his gazeon him and beingmuch alarmed,he said,"Whatis it, Lord?"And he saidto him, "Your prayersand almshave ascendedas a memorialbeforeGod.
Castyour breadon the surfaceof the waters,for you will findit after manydays.
When you setyour eyeson it, it is gone.For [wealth] certainlymakesitself wingsLike an eaglethat flies[toward] the heavens.
"For I will not contendforever,Norwill I alwaysbe angry;For the spiritwould growfaintbeforeMe, And the breath[of those whom] I have made.
My fleshand my heartmay fail,But Godis the strengthof my heartand my portionforever.
I knowwhatI shall do,sothat whenI am removedfrom the managementpeople will welcomeme into their homes.'
The crownof the wiseis their riches,[But] the follyof foolsis foolishness.
