"But Abrahamsaid,'Child,rememberthat duringyour lifeyou receivedyour good things,and likewiseLazarusbad things;but nowhe is being comfortedhere,and you are in agony.
"But woeto you who are rich,for you are receivingyour comfortin full.
Do not lovethe worldnorthe things in the world.Ifanyonelovesthe world,the loveof the Fatheris not in him.
From menwith Your hand,O LORD,From menof the world,whose portionis in [this] life,And whose bellyYou fillwith Your treasure;They are satisfiedwith children,And leavetheir abundanceto their babes.
"Ifyour footcauses you to stumble,cut it off;it is betterfor you to enterlifelame,than,havingyour twofeet,to be castinto hell,
becausethe mind seton the fleshis hostiletowardGod;for it does not subjectitself to the lawof God,for it is not evenable[to do so],
whoseendis destruction,whosegodis [their] appetite,and [whose] gloryis in their shame,who set their mindson earthly things.
strengtheningthe soulsof the disciples,encouragingthem to continuein the faith,and [saying], "Throughmanytribulationswe mustenterthe kingdomof God."
choosingratherto endure ill-treatmentwith the peopleof Godthanto enjoythe passingpleasuresof sin,
so that no onewould be disturbedby theseafflictions;for you yourselvesknowthat we have been destinedfor this.
I saidto him, "My lord,you know."And he saidto me, "Theseare the ones who comeout of the greattribulation,and they have washedtheir robesand made them whitein the bloodof the Lamb.
"These thingsI have spokento you, sothat in Me you may havepeace.In the worldyou havetribulation,but take courage;I have overcomethe world."
"In Hadeshe liftedup his eyes,beingin torment,and sawAbrahamfarawayand Lazarusin his bosom.
"And a poor mannamedLazaruswas laidat his gate,covered with sores,
That same nightBelshazzarthe Chaldeankingwas slain.
In the daysof her afflictionand homelessnessJerusalemremembersallher preciousthingsThat were from the daysof old,When her peoplefellinto the handof the adversaryAnd noonehelpedher. The adversariessawher, They mockedat her ruin.
Their innerthoughtis [that] their housesare forever[And] their dwellingplacesto allgenerations;They have calledtheir landsafter their own names.
"Yet He filledtheir houseswith good[things]; But the counselof the wickedis farfrom me.
Their eyebulgesfrom fatness;The imaginationsof [their] heartrunriot.
and said,"Sir,we rememberthat when He was stillalivethat deceiversaid,AfterthreedaysI [am to] rise again.'
And besidesallthis,betweenus and you there is a greatchasmfixed,sothat thosewho wishto come overfrom hereto you will not be able,and [that] nonemay cross overfrom thereto us.'
"Cursed[shall be] your basketand your kneadingbowl.
