then it shall be, whenhe sinsand becomesguilty,that he shall restorewhathe tookby robberyorwhathe gotby extortion,orthe depositwhichwas entrustedto him orthe lostthingwhichhe found,
But Abrahamcomplainedto Abimelechbecauseof the wellof waterwhichthe servantsof Abimelechhad seized.
"Please,givebackto them this very daytheir fields,their vineyards,their olivegrovesand their houses,also the hundredth[part] of the moneyand of the grain,the newwineand the oilthat you are exactingfrom them."
"For he has oppressed[and] forsakenthe poor;He has seizeda housewhich he has not built.
"Some removethe landmarks;They seizeand devourflocks.
Their webswill not becomeclothing,Norwill they coverthemselves with their works;Their worksare worksof iniquity,And an actof violenceis in their hands.
oppressesthe poorand needy,commitsrobbery,does not restorea pledge,but liftsup his eyesto the idols[and] commitsabomination,
"As for his father,becausehe practicedextortion,robbed[his] brotherand didwhatwas not goodamonghis people,behold,he will diefor his iniquity.
if a mandoes not oppressanyone, but restoresto the debtorhis pledge,does not commitrobbery,[but] giveshis breadto the hungryand coversthe nakedwith clothing,
[if a] wickedmanrestoresa pledge,paysbackwhathe has takenby robbery,walksby the statuteswhich ensure lifewithoutcommittinginiquity,he shall surelylive;he shall not die.
"When they goout into the outercourt,into the outercourtto the people,they shall putofftheir garmentsin whichthey have been ministeringand laythem in the holychambers;then they shall puton othergarmentssothat they will not transmitholinessto the peoplewith their garments.
The one who takesthe lifeof an animalshall makeit good,lifefor life.
Thus the one who killsan animalshall makeit good,but the one who killsa manshall be putto death.
that is, all[the rest of] the bull,he is to bringout to a cleanplaceoutsidethe campwherethe ashesare pouredout, and burnit on woodwith fire;wherethe ashesare pouredout it shall be burned.
"But they do not knowhow to dowhatis right,"declaresthe LORD,"these who hoardup violenceand devastationin their citadels."
They covetfieldsand then seize[them], And houses,and take[them] away. They roba manand his house,A manand his inheritance.
"And I will punishon that dayallwho leapon the [temple] threshold,Who fillthe houseof their lordwith violenceand deceit.
"You also say,My, howtiresomeit is!' And you disdainfullysniffat it," saysthe LORDof hosts,"and you bringwhat was takenby robberyand [what is] lameor sick;so you bringthe offering!Should I receivethat from your hand?"saysthe LORD.
then he shall confesshis sinswhichhe has committed,and he shall makerestitutionin fullfor his wrongand addto it one-fifthof it, and give[it] to him whomhe has wronged.
