You may even bequeaththem to your sonsafteryou, to receiveas a possession;you can usethem as permanentslaves.But in respect to your countrymen,the sonsof Israel,you shall not rulewith severityover oneanother.
The Egyptianscompelled the sonsof Israelto laborrigorously;
The peopleswill takethem along and bringthem to their place,and the houseof Israelwill possessthem as an inheritancein the landof the LORDas maleservantsand femaleservants;and they will taketheir captorscaptiveand will ruleover their oppressors.
You shall not ruleover him with severity,but are to revereyour God.
Then, too,[it is] out of the sonsof the sojournerswho liveas aliensamongyou that you may gainacquisition,and out of their familieswhoare with you, whomthey will have producedin your land;they also may becomeyour possession.
Now ifthe meansof a strangeror of a sojournerwith you becomessufficient,and a countrymanof yours becomesso poorwith regardto him as to sellhimself to a strangerwho is sojourningwith you, orto the descendantsof a stranger'sfamily,
