You shall thus consecratethe fiftiethyearand proclaima releasethrough the landto allits inhabitants.It shall be a jubileefor you, and eachof you shall returnto his own property,and eachof you shall returnto his family.
Whoeverthere is among you of allHis people,may his Godbe with him! Let him goup to Jerusalemwhichis in Judahand rebuildthe houseof the LORD,the Godof Israel;He is the Godwhois in Jerusalem.
Who executesjusticefor the oppressed;Who givesfoodto the hungry.The LORDsetsthe prisonersfree.
"I am the LORDyour God,whobroughtyou out of the landof Egypt,out of the houseof slavery.
Sayingto those who are bound,'Goforth,'To those whoare in darkness,'Showyourselves.' Alongthe roadsthey will feed,And their pasture[will be] on allbareheights.
"For the dayof vengeancewas in My heart,And My yearof redemptionhas come.
And allthe officialsand allthe peopleobeyedwhohad enteredinto the covenantthat eachmanshould setfreehis maleservantand eachmanhis femaleservant,so that nooneshould keepthem anylongerin bondage;they obeyed,and set[them free].
The wordwhichcameto Jeremiahfrom the LORDafterKingZedekiahhad madea covenantwith allthe peoplewhowere in Jerusalemto proclaimreleaseto them:
"But ifhe givesa giftfrom his inheritanceto oneof his servants,it shall be his untilthe yearof liberty;then it shall returnto the prince.His inheritance[shall be] onlyhis sons';it shall belongto them.
You shall havethe fiftiethyearas a jubilee;you shall not sow,norreapits aftergrowth,norgatherin [from] its untrimmedvines.
On thisyearof jubileeeachof you shall returnto his own property.
He shall then goout from you, he and his sonswith him, and shall gobackto his family,that he may returnto the propertyof his forefathers.
Even ifhe is not redeemedby these[means], he shall still goout in the yearof jubilee,he and his sonswith him.
To grantus that we, being rescuedfrom the handof our enemies,Might serveHim without fear,
Nowthe Lordis the Spirit,and wherethe Spiritof the Lordis, [there] is liberty.
NowthisHagaris MountSinaiin Arabiaand correspondsto the presentJerusalem,for she is in slaverywith her children.
For you were calledto freedom,brethren;only[do] not [turn] your freedominto an opportunityfor the flesh,but throughloveserveone another.
[Act] as free men,and do not useyour freedomas a coveringfor evil,but [use it] as bondslavesof God.
