"Speakto the sonsof Israel,saying,On the fifteenthof thisseventhmonthis the Feastof Boothsfor sevendaysto the LORD.
Jeroboaminstituteda feastin the eighthmonthon the fifteenthdayof the month,like the feastwhichis in Judah,and he wentup to the altar;thushe didin Bethel,sacrificingto the calveswhichhe had made.And he stationedin Bethelthe priestsof the highplaceswhichhe had made.
Allthe menof Israelassembledthemselves to KingSolomonat the feast,in the monthEthanim,whichis the seventhmonth.
So Solomonobservedthe feastat that time,and allIsraelwith him, a greatassemblyfrom the entranceof Hamathto the brookof Egypt,beforethe LORDour God,for sevendaysand seven[more] days,[even] fourteendays.
They celebratedthe Feastof Booths,as it is written,and [offered] the fixed numberof burntofferingsdaily,according to the ordinance,as eachdayrequired;
They foundwrittenin the lawhowthe LORDhad commandedthroughMosesthat the sonsof Israelshould livein boothsduring the feastof the seventhmonth.
"Also [you shall observe] the Feastof the Harvest[of] the firstfruitsof your labors[from] whatyou sowin the field;also the Feastof the Ingatheringat the endof the yearwhen you gatherin [the fruit of] your laborsfrom the field.
"You shall celebratethe Feastof Weeks,[that is], the firstfruitsof the wheatharvest,and the Feastof Ingatheringat the turnof the year.
"In the seventh[month], on the fifteenthdayof the month,at the feast,he shall providelike this,sevendaysfor the sinoffering,the burntoffering,the grain offeringand the oil."
Again the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
You shall livein boothsfor sevendays;allthe native-bornin Israelshall livein booths,
sothat your generationsmay knowthat I had the sonsof Israellivein boothswhen I broughtthem out from the landof Egypt.I am the LORDyour God.'"
Then on the fifteenthdayof the seventhmonthyou shall havea holyconvocation;you shall donolaboriouswork,and you shall observea feastto the LORDfor sevendays.
And the Wordbecameflesh,and dweltamongus, and we sawHis glory,gloryas of the only begottenfrom the Father,fullof graceand truth.
Nowthe feastof the Jews,the Feast of Booths,was near.
"Threetimesin a yearallyour malesshall appearbeforethe LORDyour Godin the placewhichHe chooses,at the Feastof UnleavenedBreadand at the Feastof Weeksand at the Feastof Booths,and they shall not appearbeforethe LORDempty-handed.
Then Mosescommandedthem, saying,"At the endof [every] sevenyears,at the timeof the yearof remissionof debts, at the Feastof Booths,
Allthesediedin faith,withoutreceivingthe promises,but having seenthem and having welcomedthem from a distance,and having confessedthat they were strangersand exileson the earth.
By faithhe lived as an alienin the landof promise,as in a foreign[land], dwellingin tentswith Isaacand Jacob,fellow heirsof the samepromise;
