"Now you shall havethisas a permanentstatute,to makeatonementfor the sonsof Israelfor alltheir sinsonceevery year."And justas the LORDhad commandedMoses,[so] he did.
"In the tentof meeting,outsidethe veilwhichis beforethe testimony,Aaronand his sonsshall keepit in orderfrom eveningto morningbeforethe LORD;[it shall be] a perpetualstatutethroughout their generationsfor the sonsof Israel.
"Aaronshall makeatonementon its hornsoncea year;he shall makeatonementon it with the bloodof the sinofferingof atonementoncea yearthroughout your generations.It is mostholyto the LORD."
And Mosesexaminedallthe workand behold,they had doneit; justas the LORDhad commanded,thisthey had done.So Mosesblessedthem.
The LORDsaidto Moses:"Tellyour brotherAaronthat he shall not enterat anytimeinto the holyplace insidethe veil,beforethe mercyseatwhichis on the ark,orhe will die;for I will appearin the cloudoverthe mercyseat.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
"You shall not doanyworkon thissameday,for it is a dayof atonement,to makeatonementon your behalfbeforethe LORDyour God.
"You shall donoworkat all.It is to be a perpetualstatutethroughout your generationsin allyour dwellingplaces.
Then Mosesspoketo the sonsof Israel,and they broughtthe one who had cursedoutsidethe campand stonedhim with stones.Thus the sonsof Israeldid,justas the LORDhad commandedMoses.
It is a perpetualstatutethroughout your generationsin allyour dwellings:you shall not eatanyfator anyblood.'"
Then on the tenthday of thisseventhmonthyou shall havea holyconvocation,and you shall humbleyourselves;you shall not doanywork.
For by oneofferingHe has perfectedfor all timethosewho are sanctified.
But in those[sacrifices] there is a reminderof sinsyear by year.
norwas it that He would offerHimselfoften,as the high priestentersthe holy placeyear by yearwith bloodthat is not his own.
but into the second,onlythe high priest[enters] oncea year,not without[taking] blood,whichhe offersfor himselfand for the sinsof the peoplecommitted in ignorance.
