"But the landshall be dividedby lot.They shall receivetheir inheritanceaccording to the namesof the tribesof their fathers.
"Thus noinheritanceof the sonsof Israelshall be transferredfrom tribeto tribe,for the sonsof Israelshall eachholdto the inheritanceof the tribeof his fathers.
Then the eldersof the congregationsaid,"Whatshall we dofor wivesfor those who are left,sincethe womenare destroyedout of Benjamin?"
"But we cannotgivethem wivesof our daughters."For the sonsof Israelhad sworn,saying,"Cursedis he who givesa wifeto Benjamin."
