"And I tookholdof my concubineand cuther in piecesand senther throughoutthe landof Israel'sinheritance;for they have committeda lewdand disgracefulactin Israel.
Now the sonsof Jacobcamein from the fieldwhen they heard[it]; and the menwere grieved,and they were veryangrybecausehe had donea disgracefulthingin Israelby lyingwith Jacob'sdaughter,for sucha thingought not to be done.
Do not defileyourselves by anyof thesethings;for by allthesethe nationswhichI am castingout beforeyou have becomedefiled.
Thus you are to keepMy charge,that you do not practiceanyof the abominablecustomswhichhave been practicedbeforeyou, so as not to defileyourselves with them; I am the LORDyour God.'"
It shall be that the one who is takenwith the thingsunderthe banshall be burnedwith fire,he and allthat belongs to him, becausehe has transgressedthe covenantof the LORD,and becausehe has committeda disgracefulthingin Israel.'"
While they were celebrating,behold,the menof the city,certainworthlessfellows,surroundedthe house,poundingthe door;and they spoketo the ownerof the house,the oldman,saying,"Bringout the manwhocameinto your housethat we may haverelationswith him."
Then the man,the ownerof the house,wentout to them and saidto them, "No,my fellows,pleasedo not actso wickedly;sincethismanhas comeinto my house,do not committhisactof folly.
When he enteredhis house,he tooka knifeand laidholdof his concubineand cuther in twelvepieces,limb by limb,and senther throughoutthe territoryof Israel.
"And we will take10menout of 100throughoutthe tribesof Israel,and 100out of 1,000,and 1,000out of 10,000to supplyfoodfor the people,that when they cometo Gibeahof Benjamin,they may punish[them] for allthe disgracefulactsthat they have committedin Israel."
