"And we will take10menout of 100throughoutthe tribesof Israel,and 100out of 1,000,and 1,000out of 10,000to supplyfoodfor the people,that when they cometo Gibeahof Benjamin,they may punish[them] for allthe disgracefulactsthat they have committedin Israel."
Do not defileyourselves by anyof thesethings;for by allthesethe nationswhichI am castingout beforeyou have becomedefiled.
then they shall bringout the girlto the doorwayof her father'shouse,and the menof her cityshall stoneher to deathbecauseshe has committedan actof follyin Israelby playingthe harlotin her father'shouse;thus you shall purgethe evilfrom amongyou.
It shall be that the one who is takenwith the thingsunderthe banshall be burnedwith fire,he and allthat belongs to him, becausehe has transgressedthe covenantof the LORD,and becausehe has committeda disgracefulthingin Israel.'"
Thus allthe menof Israelwere gatheredagainstthe city,unitedas oneman.
"And I tookholdof my concubineand cuther in piecesand senther throughoutthe landof Israel'sinheritance;for they have committeda lewdand disgracefulactin Israel.
"But nowthisis the thingwhichwe will doto Gibeah;[we will go up] againstit by lot.
Now the menof Israelhad swornin Mizpah,saying,"Noneof us shall givehis daughterto Benjaminin marriage."
