The sonsof ReubenbuiltHeshbonand Elealehand Kiriathaim,
Heshbon,and allits citieswhichare on the plain:Dibonand Bamoth-baaland Beth-baal-meon,
even allthe citiesof the plainand allthe kingdomof Sihonkingof the Amoriteswhoreignedin Heshbon,whomMosesstruckwith the chiefsof Midian,Eviand Rekemand Zurand Hurand Reba,the princesof Sihon,who livedin the land.
Their territorywas Jazer,and allthe citiesof Gilead,and halfthe landof the sonsof Ammon,as faras Aroerwhichis beforeRabbah;
From the tribeof Gad,[they gave] Ramothin Gilead,the cityof refugefor the manslayer,with its pasturelandsand Mahanaimwith its pasturelands,
All[these were] the citiesof the sonsof Merariaccording to their families,the restof the familiesof the Levites;and their lotwas twelvecities.
