Then he said,"Pleasespeakto Solomonthe king,for he will not refuseyou, that he may giveme Abishagthe Shunammiteas a wife."
So she said,"Let Abishagthe Shunammitebe givento Adonijahyour brotheras a wife."
Now it cameabout afterthesethingsthat Naboththe Jezreelitehada vineyardwhich[was] in Jezreelbesidethe palaceof Ahabkingof Samaria.
Then he saidto Gehazihis servant,"CallthisShunammite."And when he had calledher, she stoodbeforehim.
Now there camea daywhen Elishapassedoverto Shunem,wherethere was a prominentwoman,and she persuadedhim to eatfood.And so it was, as oftenas he passedby, he turnedin thereto eatfood.
So KingJoramreturnedto be healedin Jezreelof the woundswhichthe Arameanshad inflictedon him at Ramahwhen he foughtagainstHazaelkingof Aram.Then Ahaziahthe sonof Jehoramkingof Judahwentdownto seeJoramthe sonof Ahabin Jezreelbecausehe was sick.
but KingJoramhad returnedto Jezreelto be healedof the woundswhichthe Arameanshad inflictedon him when he foughtwith Hazaelkingof Aram.So Jehusaid,"Ifthis is your mind,[then] let nooneescape[or] leavethe cityto gotell[it] in Jezreel."
When Jehucameto Jezreel,Jezebelheard[of it], and she paintedher eyesand adornedher headand lookedout the window.
