He madehim kingoverGilead,overthe Ashurites,overJezreel,overEphraim,and overBenjamin,even overallIsrael.
Their possessionsand settlements[were] Bethelwith its towns,and to the eastNaaran,and to the westGezerwith its towns,and Shechemwith its townsas faras Ayyahwith its towns,
"Besidethe borderof Manasseh,from the eastsideto the westside,Ephraim,one[portion].
But they did not driveout the Canaaniteswho livedin Gezer,so the Canaaniteslivein the midstof Ephraimto thisday,and they becameforcedlaborers.
From Tappuahthe bordercontinuedwestwardto the brookof Kanah,and it endedat the sea.Thisis the inheritanceof the tribeof the sonsof Ephraimaccording to their families,
The borderwentdownto the brookof Kanah,southwardof the brook(thesecities[belonged] to Ephraimamongthe citiesof Manasseh),and the borderof Manasseh[was] on the northsideof the brookand it endedat the sea.
