Beth-zur,Soco,Adullam,
Adoraim,Lachish,Azekah,
and in En-rimmon,in Zorahand in Jarmuth,
Moreover,I will bringon you The one who takespossession,O inhabitantof Mareshah.The gloryof Israelwill enterAdullam.
And the LORDconfoundedthem beforeIsrael,and He slewthem with a greatslaughterat Gibeon,and pursuedthem by the wayof the ascentof Beth-horonand struckthem as faras Azekahand Makkedah.
They didso,and broughtthesefivekingsout to him from the cave:the kingof Jerusalem,the kingof Hebron,the kingof Jarmuth,the kingof Lachish,[and] the kingof Eglon.
Therefore Adoni-zedekkingof Jerusalemsent[word] to Hohamkingof Hebronand to Piramkingof Jarmuthand to Japhiakingof Lachishand to Debirkingof Eglon,saying,
the kingof Jarmuth,one;the kingof Lachish,one;
the kingof Libnah,one;the kingof Adullam,one;
and Zanoahand En-gannim,Tappuahand Enam,
and Shaaraimand Adithaimand Gederahand Gederothaim;fourteencitieswith their villages.
In the hillcountry:Shamirand Jattirand Socoh,

So Daviddepartedfrom thereand escapedto the caveof Adullam;and when his brothersand allhis father'shouseholdheard[of it], they wentdownthereto him.
