Now Joshuawas old[and] advancedin yearswhen the LORDsaidto him, "You are old[and] advancedin years,and verymuchof the landremainsto be possessed.
Now Abrahamand Sarahwere old,advancedin age;Sarahwas pastchildbearing.
Now KingDavidwas old,advancedin age;and they coveredhim with clothes,but he could not keepwarm.
And the bordershall godownto the Jordanand its terminationshall be at the SaltSea.Thisshall be your landaccording to its bordersallaround.'"
"Commandthe sonsof Israeland sayto them, 'Whenyou enterthe landof Canaan,thisis the landthat shall fallto you as an inheritance,[even the] landof Canaanaccording to its borders.
But they hadnochild,becauseElizabethwas barren,and they were bothadvancedin years.
"It is the LORDyour Godwho will crossaheadof you; He will destroythesenationsbeforeyou, and you shall dispossessthem. Joshuais the one who will crossaheadof you, justas the LORDhas spoken.
"Thisis the landthat remains:allthe regions[of] the Philistinesand all[those of] the Geshurites;
"Nowbehold,the LORDhas let me live,justas He spoke,theseforty-fiveyears,from the timethat the LORDspokethiswordto Moses,whenIsraelwalkedin the wilderness;and nowbehold,I am eighty-fiveyearsoldtoday.
So Joshuasaidto the sonsof Israel,"Howlongwill you putoffenteringto takepossessionof the landwhichthe LORD,the Godof your fathers,has givenyou?
Then the LORDspoketo Joshua,saying,
It cameabout afterthesethingsthat Joshuathe sonof Nun,the servantof the LORD,died,being one hundredand tenyearsold.
