Allthe spoilof thesecitiesand the cattle,the sonsof Israeltookas their plunder;but they struckeverymanwith the edgeof the sword,untilthey had destroyedthem. They leftnoonewhobreathed.
When Jehoshaphatand his peoplecameto taketheir spoil,they foundmuchamong them, [including] goods,garmentsand valuablethingswhich they tookfor themselves, more thanthey could carry.And they were threedaystakingthe spoilbecausethere was so much.
The sonsof Israelcapturedthe womenof Midianand their littleones;and alltheir cattleand alltheir flocksand alltheir goodsthey plundered.
"Onlythe womenand the childrenand the animalsand allthat is in the city,allits spoil,you shall takeas bootyfor yourself; and you shall usethe spoilof your enemieswhichthe LORDyour Godhas givenyou.
"Onlyin the citiesof thesepeoplesthat the LORDyour Godis givingyou as an inheritance,you shall not leavealiveanythingthat breathes.
Thus Joshuastruckallthe land,the hillcountryand the Negevand the lowlandand the slopesand alltheir kings.He leftnosurvivor,but he utterlydestroyedallwhobreathed,justas the LORD,the Godof Israel,had commanded.
They struckeverypersonwhowas in it with the edgeof the sword,utterlydestroying[them]; there was noone leftwhobreathed.And he burnedHazorwith fire.
However,Israeldid not burnanycitiesthat stoodon their mounds,exceptHazoralone,[which] Joshuaburned.
Justas the LORDhad commandedMoseshis servant,soMosescommandedJoshua,and soJoshuadid;he leftnothingundoneof allthat the LORDhad commandedMoses.
"You shall doto Aiand its kingjustas you didto Jerichoand its king;you shall takeonlyits spoiland its cattleas plunderfor yourselves. Setan ambushfor the citybehindit."
Israeltookonlythe cattleand the spoilof that cityas plunderfor themselves, according to the wordof the LORDwhichHe had commandedJoshua.
