He saidto them, "Pickme up and throwme into the sea.Then the seawill becomecalmfor you, for I knowthat on accountof me thisgreatstorm[has come] upon you."
Then Davidspoketo the LORDwhen he sawthe angelwho was strikingdownthe people,and said,"Behold,it is I who have sinned,and it is I who have donewrong;but thesesheep,whathave they done?Pleaselet Your handbe against me and against my father'shouse."
Davidsaidto God,"Is it not I who commandedto countthe people?Indeed, I am the one whohas sinnedand doneverywickedly,but thesesheep,whathave they done?O LORDmy God,pleaselet Your handbe against me and my father'shousehold,but not against Your peoplethat they should be plagued."
"Therefore the sonsof Israelcannotstandbeforetheir enemies;they turn[their] backsbeforetheir enemies,for they have becomeaccursed.I will not be with you anymoreunlessyou destroythe thingsunderthe banfrom your midst.
saying,'Do not be afraid,Paul;you muststand beforeCaesar;and behold,Godhas grantedyou allthosewho are sailingwith you.'
nordo you take into accountthat it is expedientfor you that onemandiefor the people,and that the wholenationnot perish."
Wisdomis betterthanweaponsof war,but onesinnerdestroysmuchgood.
So they saidto him, "Whatshould we doto you that the seamay becomecalmfor us?"-- for the seawas becomingincreasinglystormy.
However, the menrowed[desperately] to returnto landbut they couldnot, for the seawas becoming[even] stormieragainstthem.
"Your wickednessis for a manlikeyourself, And your righteousnessis for a sonof man.
