Thereforethe neighbors,and thosewho previouslysawhim as a beggar,were saying,"Is not thisthe one who used to sitand beg?"
Thenthey cameto Jericho.And as He was leavingJerichowith His disciplesand a largecrowd,a blindbeggar[named] Bartimaeus,the sonof Timaeus,was sittingby the road.
Her neighborsand her relativesheardthat the Lordhad displayed His greatmercytowardher; and they were rejoicingwith her.
As Jesus was approachingJericho,a blind manwas sittingby the roadbegging.
Otherswere saying,"Thisis he," [still] otherswere saying,"No,but he is likehim." He kept saying,"I amthe one."
So they bothwentuntilthey cameto Bethlehem.And when they had cometo Bethlehem,allthe citywas stirredbecauseof them, and the women said,"Is thisNaomi?"
"He raisesthe poorfrom the dust,He liftsthe needyfrom the ashheapTo make them sitwith nobles,And inherita seatof honor;For the pillarsof the earthare the LORD'S,And He setthe worldon them.
But the servantsof Achishsaidto him, "Is thisnot Davidthe kingof the land?Did they not singof thisoneas they danced,saying,'Saulhas slainhis thousands,And Davidhis tenthousands'?"
