and seattwoworthlessmenbeforehim, and let them testifyagainst him, saying,You cursedGodand the king.'Then takehim out and stonehim to death."
If anyonekillsa person,the murderershall be putto deathat the evidenceof witnesses,but nopersonshall be putto deathon the testimonyof onewitness.
"But ifhe does not listen[to you], takeoneortwomorewith you, sothat BY THE MOUTHOF TWOORTHREEWITNESSESEVERYFACTMAY BE CONFIRMED.
Jesusansweredthem, "Has it not beenwrittenin your Law,I SAID,YOU ARE GODS'?
"But [they have done this] to fulfillthe wordthat is writtenin their Law,THEY HATEDME WITHOUT A CAUSE.'
Thisis the third timeI am comingto you. EVERYFACTIS TO BE CONFIRMEDBY THE TESTIMONYOF TWOORTHREEWITNESSES.
Thereforethe Lawhas becomeour tutor[to lead us] to Christ,sothat we may be justifiedby faith.
Tellme, you who wantto be underlaw,do you not listento the law?
"On the evidenceof twowitnessesorthreewitnesses,he who is to dieshall be putto death;he shall not be putto deathon the evidenceof onewitness.
"A singlewitnessshall not riseup against a manon account of anyiniquityor anysinwhichhe has committed;on the evidenceof twoorthreewitnessesa mattershall be confirmed.
Anyonewho has set asidethe Lawof Mosesdieswithoutmercyon [the testimony of] twoorthreewitnesses.
Ifwe receivethe testimonyof men,the testimonyof Godis greater;for the testimonyof Godis this,that He has testifiedconcerningHis Son.
"And I will grant[authority] to my twowitnesses,and they will prophesyfor twelvehundredand sixtydays,clothedin sackcloth."
