Jesusansweredthem and said,"Truly,truly,I sayto you, you seekMe, not becauseyou sawsigns,but becauseyou ateof the loavesand were filled.
For their heartwas not steadfasttowardHim, Norwere they faithfulin His covenant.
"They cometo you as peoplecome,and sitbeforeyou [as] My peopleand hearyour words,but they do not dothem, for they dothe lustfuldesires[expressed] by their mouth,[and] their heartgoesaftertheir gain.
Jesusansweredand saidto him, "Truly,truly,I sayto you, unlessoneis bornagainhe cannotseethe kingdomof God."
Jesusanswered,"Truly,truly,I sayto you, unlessoneis bornof waterand the Spirithe cannotenterinto the kingdomof God.
Thereforewhen the peoplesawthe signwhichHe had performed,they said,"Thisis trulythe Prophetwho is to comeinto the world."
SoJesus,perceivingthat they were intendingto comeand take Him by forceto makeHim king,withdrewagainto the mountainby Himselfalone.
A largecrowdfollowedHim, becausethey sawthe signswhichHe was performingon thosewho were sick.
Sowhenthe crowdsawthat Jesuswas not there,norHis disciples,they themselvesgotinto the small boats,and cameto CapernaumseekingJesus.
Sothey saidto Him, "Whatthendo You dofor a sign,sothat we may see,and believeYou? Whatwork do You perform?
"But I saidto you that you have seenMe, and yet do not believe.
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, he who believeshaseternallife.
SoJesussaidto them, "Truly,truly,I sayto you, unlessyou eatthe fleshof the Sonof Manand drinkHis blood,you havenolifein yourselves.
"But there are someof you whodo not believe."For Jesusknewfrom the beginningwhothey were who did not believe,and whoit was that would betrayHim.
For such menare slaves,not of our LordChristbut of their ownappetites;and by their smoothand flattering speechthey deceivethe heartsof the unsuspecting.
For they allseek aftertheir owninterests, not thoseof ChristJesus.
whoseendis destruction,whosegodis [their] appetite,and [whose] gloryis in their shame,who set their mindson earthly things.
and constant frictionbetween menof depravedmindand deprivedof the truth,who supposethat godlinessis a means of gain.
