In theselaya multitudeof thosewho were sick,blind,lame,and withered,[waitingfor the movingof the waters;
Now when the kingheardthe sayingof the manof God,whichhe criedagainstthe altarin Bethel,Jeroboamstretchedout his handfrom the altar,saying,"Seizehim." But his handwhichhe stretchedout againsthim driedup, so that he couldnot drawit backto himself.
"Blessedis the manwho listensto me, Watchingdailyat my gates,Waitingat my doorposts.
[It is] goodthat he waitssilentlyFor the salvationof the LORD.
"Woeto the worthlessshepherdWho leavesthe flock!A swordwill be on his armAnd on his righteye!His armwill be totallywitheredAnd his righteyewill be blind."
And largecrowdscameto Him, bringingwith them [those who were] lame,crippled,blind,mute,and manyothers,and they laid them downat His feet;and He healedthem.
The newsabout Him spreadthroughoutallSyria;and they broughtto Him allwho were ill,those sufferingwith variousdiseasesand pains,demoniacs,epileptics,paralytics;and He healedthem.
And He answeredand saidto them, "Goand reportto Johnwhatyou have seenand heard:[the] BLINDRECEIVE SIGHT,[the] lamewalk,[the] lepersare cleansed,and [the] deafhear,[the] deadare raisedup, [the] POORHAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHEDTO THEM.
Nowthere is in Jerusalemby the sheep[gate] a pool,which is calledin HebrewBethesda,havingfiveporticoes.
for an angelof the Lordwent downat certainseasonsinto the pooland stirredup the water;whoever thenfirst,afterthe stirringup of the water,steppedin was madewellfrom whateverdiseasewith whichhe was afflicted].
But ifwe hopefor whatwe do not see,with perseverancewe wait eagerlyfor it.
Thereforebe patient,brethren,untilthe comingof the Lord.The farmerwaitsfor the preciousproduceof the soil,being patientaboutit, untilit getsthe earlyand laterains.
