"So she arosein the middleof the nightand tookmy sonfrom besideme while your maidservantslept,and laidhim in her bosom,and laidher deadsonin my bosom.
"For you hatediscipline,And you castMy wordsbehindyou.
Becausethey hatedknowledgeAnd did not choosethe fearof the LORD.
A scofferdoes not loveone who reproveshim, He will not goto the wise.
He who winkshis eyes[does so] to deviseperversethings;He who compresseshis lipsbringsevilto pass.
From those who leavethe pathsof uprightnessTo walkin the waysof darkness;
But the pathof the righteousis like the lightof dawn,That shinesbrighterand brighteruntilthe fullday.
And you say,"HowI have hatedinstruction!And my heartspurnedreproof!
"Your dwellingis in the midstof deceit;Through deceitthey refuseto knowMe," declaresthe LORD.
Oneof the lawyerssaidto Him in reply,"Teacher,when You saythis,You insultus too."
"But he who practicesthe truthcomesto the Light,sothat his deedsmay be manifestedas having beenwroughtin God."
"The worldcannothateyou, but it hatesMe becauseI testifyof it, that its deedsare evil.
