A jarfullof sourwinewas standingthere; sothey puta spongefullof the sour wineupon [a branch] [of] hyssopand broughtit up to His mouth.
He spokeof trees,from the cedarthat is in Lebanoneven to the hyssopthat growson the wall;he spokealso of animalsand birdsand creepingthingsand fish.
Purifyme with hyssop,and I shall be clean;Washme, and I shall be whiterthansnow.
"You shall takea bunchof hyssopand dipit in the bloodwhichis in the basin,and applysomeof the bloodthat is in the basinto the linteland the twodoorposts;and noneof you shall gooutsidethe doorof his houseuntilmorning.
A cleanpersonshall takehyssopand dip[it] in the water,and sprinkle[it] on the tentand on allthe furnishingsand on the personswhowere there,and on the one who touchedthe boneorthe oneslainorthe one dying[naturally] orthe grave.

Immediatelyoneof them ran,and takinga sponge,he filledit with sour wineand putit on a reed,and gave Him a drink.
