ThereforePilatesaidto Him, "SoYou are a king?"Jesusanswered,"You say[correctly] that I ama king.For thisI have been born,and for thisI have comeinto the world,to testifyto the truth.Everyonewho is of the truthhearsMy voice."
"Behold,I have madehim a witnessto the peoples,A leaderand commanderfor the peoples.
Jesussaidto him, "You have saidit [yourself]; neverthelessI tellyou, hereafteryou will seeTHE SONOF MANSITTINGAT THE RIGHT HANDOF POWER,and COMINGON THE CLOUDSOF HEAVEN."
NowJesusstoodbeforethe governor,and the governorquestionedHim, saying,"Are You the Kingof the Jews?"And Jesussaidto him, "[It is as] you say."
And Jesussaid,"I am;and you shall seeTHE SONOF MANSITTINGAT THE RIGHT HANDOF POWER,and COMINGWITH THE CLOUDSOF HEAVEN."
PilatequestionedHim, "Are You the Kingof the Jews?"And He answeredhim, "[It is as] you say."
And they allsaid,"Are You the Sonof God,then?"And He saidto them, "Yes, I am."
SoPilateaskedHim, saying,"Are You the Kingof the Jews?"And He answeredhim and said,"[It is as] you say."
And the Wordbecameflesh,and dweltamongus, and we sawHis glory,gloryas of the only begottenfrom the Father,fullof graceand truth.
For the Lawwas giventhroughMoses;graceand truthwere realizedthroughJesusChrist.
Jesussaidto him, "I amthe way,and the truth,and the life;no onecomesto the Fatherbut throughMe.
"WhatHe has seenand heard,of that He testifies;and no onereceivesHis testimony.
"Ifanyoneis willingto doHis will,he will knowof the teaching,whetherit is of Godor[whether] I speakfrom Myself.
Jesusansweredand saidto them, "Even ifI testifyaboutMyself,My testimonyis true,for I knowwhereI camefrom and whereI am going;but you do not knowwhereI comefrom orwhereI am going.
"But becauseI speakthe truth,you do not believeMe.
"Whichoneof you convictsMe of sin?IfI speaktruth,whydo you not believeMe?
"He who is of Godhearsthe wordsof God;for thisreasonyou do not hear[them], becauseyou are not of God."
I chargeyou in the presenceof God,who gives lifeto all things,and of ChristJesus,who testifiedthe goodconfessionbeforePontiusPilate,
Since you have in obedienceto the truthpurifiedyour soulsfor a sincerelove of the brethren,ferventlyloveone anotherfrom the heart,
I have not writtento you becauseyou do not knowthe truth,but becauseyou do knowit, and becausenolieis of the truth.
We knowthat we have passedout of deathinto life,becausewe lovethe brethren.He who does not loveabidesin death.
We will knowby thisthat we are of the truth,and will assureour heartbeforeHim
We are from God;he who knowsGodlistensto us; he whois not from Goddoes not listento us. By thiswe knowthe spiritof truthand the spiritof error.
And we knowthat the Sonof Godhas come,and has givenus understandingsothat we may knowHim whois true;and we are in Him who is true,in His SonJesusChrist.Thisis the true Godand eternallife.
