To receiveinstructionin wisebehavior,Righteousness,justiceand equity;
My son,ifyou will receivemy wordsAnd treasuremy commandmentswithinyou,
Hear,my son,and acceptmy sayingsAnd the yearsof your lifewill be many.
"Takemy instructionand not silver,And knowledgeratherthanchoicestgold.
Jesus answeredthem, "To you it has been grantedto knowthe mysteriesof the kingdomof heaven,but to them it has not been granted.
"For I did not speakon My own initiative,but the FatherHimselfwho sentMe has givenMe a commandment[as to] whatto sayand whatto speak.
"Do you not believethat I am in the Father,and the Fatheris in Me? The wordsthat I sayto you I do not speakon My own initiative,but the Fatherabidingin Me doesHis works.
"No longerdo I callyou slaves,for the slavedoes not knowwhathis masteris doing;but I have calledyou friends,for all thingsthat I have heardfrom My FatherI have made knownto you.
for the FatherHimselflovesyou, becauseyou have lovedMe and have believedthat I came forthfrom the Father.
"Nowwe know that You knowall things,and havenoneedfor anyoneto questionYou; by thiswe believethat You camefrom God."
"I have giventhem Your word;and the worldhas hatedthem, becausethey are not of the world,evenas I amnot of the world.
"As You sentMe into the world,I alsohave sentthem into the world.
that they may allbe one;evenas You, Father,[are] in Me and I in You, that they alsomay be in Us, sothat the worldmay believethat You sentMe.
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfectedin unity,sothat the worldmay knowthat You sentMe, and lovedthem, evenas You have lovedMe.
"Thisis eternallife,that they may knowYou, the onlytrue God,and JesusChristwhomYou have sent.
"For Goddid not sendthe Soninto the worldto judgethe world,but that the worldmight be savedthroughHim.
"He who has receivedHis testimonyhas set his sealto [this], that Godis true.
SimonPeteransweredHim, "Lord,to whomshall we go?You havewordsof eternallife.
Jesussaidto them, "IfGodwere your Father,you would loveMe, for I proceeded forthand have comefrom God,for I have not evencomeon My own initiative,but He sentMe.
For I receivedfrom the Lordthat whichI alsodeliveredto you, that the LordJesusin the nightin whichHe was betrayedtookbread;
NowI make knownto you, brethren,the gospelwhichI preachedto you, whichalsoyou received,in whichalsoyou stand,
I will raiseup a prophetfrom amongtheir countrymenlikeyou, and I will putMy wordsin his mouth,and he shall speakto them allthat I commandhim.
For thisreasonwe alsoconstantlythankGodthat when you receivedthe wordof Godwhichyou heardfrom us, you accepted[it] not [as] the wordof men,but [for] whatit reallyis, the wordof God,whichalsoperforms its workin you who believe.
Finallythen,brethren,we requestand exhortyou in the LordJesus,that as you receivedfrom us [instruction] as to howyou oughtto walkand pleaseGod(justas you actuallydo walk),that you excelstill more.
We have seenand testifythat the Fatherhas sentthe Son[to be] the Saviorof the world.
