"Behold,an houris coming,and has [already] come,for you to be scattered,eachto his own[home], and to leaveMe alone;and [yet] I amnot alone,becausethe Fatheris with Me.
"Awake,O sword,againstMy Shepherd,And againstthe man,My Associate,"Declaresthe LORDof hosts."Strikethe Shepherdthat the sheepmay be scattered;And I will turnMy handagainstthe littleones.
ThenJesussaidto them, "You will allfall awaybecauseof Me thisnight,for it is written,I WILL STRIKE DOWNTHE SHEPHERD,AND THE SHEEPOF THE FLOCKSHALL BE SCATTERED.'
"But allthishas taken placeto fulfillthe Scripturesof the prophets."Thenallthe disciplesleftHim and fled.
And Jesussaidto them, "You will allfall away,becauseit is written,I WILL STRIKE DOWNTHE SHEPHERD,AND THE SHEEPSHALL BE SCATTERED.'
And they allleftHim and fled.
And Jesusansweredthem, saying,"The hourhas comefor the Sonof Manto be glorified.
"They will makeyou outcasts from the synagogue,but an houris comingfor everyonewho killsyou to thinkthat he is offeringserviceto God.
"These thingsI have spokento you in figurativelanguage;an houris comingwhenI will no longerspeakto you in figurative language,but will tellyou plainlyof the Father.
Jesusansweredthem, "Do you nowbelieve?
ThenHe saidto the disciple,"Behold,your mother!"From that hourthe discipletookher into his own[household].
Sothe discipleswent awayagainto their ownhomes.
Jesussaidto her, "Woman,believeMe, an houris comingwhenneitherin thismountainnorin Jerusalemwill you worshipthe Father.
"But an houris coming,and nowis, whenthe true worshiperswill worshipthe Fatherin spiritand truth;for such peoplethe Fatherseeksto be His worshipers.
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, an houris comingand nowis, whenthe deadwill hearthe voiceof the Sonof God,and thosewho hearwill live.
"Do not marvelat this;for an houris coming,in whichallwhoare in the tombswill hearHis voice,
"But evenifI do judge,My judgmentis true;for I amnot alone[in it], but I and the Father who sentMe.
"And He who sentMe is with Me; He has not leftMe alone,for I alwaysdothe things that are pleasingto Him."
Thenwe went on boardthe ship,and they returnedhomeagain.
Saulwas in hearty agreementwith putting him to death.And on that daya greatpersecutionbeganagainstthe churchin Jerusalem,and they were allscatteredthroughoutthe regionsof Judeaand Samaria,exceptthe apostles.
