Thereforethe chief priestsand the Phariseesconveneda council,and were saying,"Whatare we doing?For thismanis performingmanysigns.
Thenthe chiefpriestsand the eldersof the peoplewere gathered togetherin the courtof the high priest,namedCaiaphas;
"But I sayto you that everyonewho is angrywith his brothershall be guiltybefore the court;and whoeversaysto his brother,You good-for-nothing,'shall be guiltybefore the supreme court;and whoeversays,'You fool,'shall be guilty[enough to go] into the fieryhell.
Nowthe Passoverand UnleavenedBread were twodaysaway;and the chief priestsand the scribeswere seekinghowto seizeHim by stealthand kill[Him];
The chief priestsand the scribeswere seekinghowthey might put Him to death;for they were afraidof the people.
Nowthe chief priestsand the Phariseeshad givenordersthat ifanyoneknewwhereHe was, he was to reportit, sothat they might seizeHim.
Sothe Phariseessaidto one another,"You seethat you are not doinganygood;look,the worldhas goneafterHim."
Thisbeginningof [His] signsJesusdidin Canaof Galilee,and manifestedHis glory,and His disciplesbelievedin Him.
A largecrowdfollowedHim, becausethey sawthe signswhichHe was performingon thosewho were sick.
The Phariseesheardthe crowdmutteringthese thingsaboutHim, and the chief priestsand the Phariseessentofficersto seizeHim.
The officersthencameto the chief priestsand Pharisees,and they saidto them, "Whydid you not bringHim?"
Upon hearing[this], they enteredinto the templeaboutdaybreakand [began] to teach.Nowwhen the high priestand his associatescame,they calledthe Counciltogether,evenallthe Senateof the sonsof Israel,and sent[orders] to the prison housefor them to be brought.
Nowwhenthe captainof the temple[guard] and the chief priestsheardthesewords,they were greatly perplexedaboutthem as to whatwould comeof this.
