To bringrainon a landwithoutpeople,[On] a desertwithouta manin it,
When He seta limitfor the rainAnd a coursefor the thunderbolt,
"For He drawsup the dropsof water,They distillrainfrom the mist,
"Whetherfor correction,orfor His world,Orfor lovingkindness,He causes it to happen.
"Whohas clefta channelfor the flood,Or a wayfor the thunderbolt,
"He givesrainon the earthAnd sendswateron the fields,
He changesa wildernessinto a poolof waterAnd a drylandinto springsof water;
He causes the vaporsto ascendfrom the endsof the earth;Who makeslightningsfor the rain,Who bringsforththe windfrom His treasuries.
The pasturesof the wildernessdrip,And the hillsgirdthemselves with rejoicing.
When He uttersHis voice,[there is] a tumultof watersin the heavens,And He causes the cloudsto ascendfrom the endof the earth;He makeslightningfor the rain,And bringsout the windfrom His storehouses.
Are thereanyamong the idolsof the nationswho giverain?Orcan the heavensgrantshowers?Is it not You, O LORDour God?Therefore we hopein You, For You are the one who has doneallthesethings.
