Then the LORDsaidto Satan,"Behold,allthat he has is in your power,onlydo not putforthyour handon him." So Satandepartedfrom the presenceof the LORD.
But Abramsaidto Sarai,"Behold,your maidis in your power;doto her whatis goodin your sight."So Saraitreatedher harshly,and she fledfrom her presence.
"The LORDsaidto him, 'How?'And he said,'I will goout and be a deceivingspiritin the mouthof allhis prophets.'Then He said,'You are to entice[him] and alsoprevail.Goand doso.'
"Nowtherefore, behold,the LORDhas puta deceivingspiritin the mouthof alltheseyour prophets;and the LORDhas proclaimeddisasteragainstyou."
"He said,'I will goand be a deceivingspiritin the mouthof allhis prophets.'Then He said,'You are to entice[him] and prevailalso.Goand doso.'
"But putforthYour handnowand touchallthat he has; he will surelycurseYou to Your face."
Now on the daywhen his sonsand his daughterswere eatingand drinkingwinein their oldestbrother'shouse,
For the wrathof manshall praiseYou; With a remnantof wrathYou will girdYourself.
You contendedwith them by banishingthem, by drivingthem away.With His fiercewindHe has expelled[them] on the dayof the eastwind.
So KingZedekiahsaid,"Behold,he is in your hands;for the kingcan[do] nothingagainst you."
"For lifeis morethan food,and the bodymorethan clothing.
Jesusanswered,"You would havenoauthorityoverMe, unlessit had beengivenyou from above;for thisreasonhe who deliveredMe to you has[the] greatersin."
Notemptationhas overtakenyou but such as is common to man;and Godis faithful,whowill not allowyou to be temptedbeyondwhatyou are able,but with the temptationwill providethe way of escapealso,so that you will be ableto endureit.
Because of the surpassing greatnessof the revelations,for this reason,to keepme from exaltingmyself, there was givenme a thornin the flesh,a messengerof Satanto tormentme-- to keepme from exaltingmyself!
