So he ledJehoiachinawayinto exileto Babylon;also the king'smotherand the king'swivesand his officialsand the leadingmenof the land,he ledaway into exilefrom Jerusalemto Babylon.
Envoyswill comeout of Egypt;Ethiopiawill quicklystretchout her handsto God.
Menof bloodshedhatethe blameless,But the uprightare concernedfor his life.
Let not the foreignerwho has joinedhimself to the LORDsay,"The LORDwill surelyseparateme from His people."Norlet the eunuchsay,"Behold,I am a drytree."
"Can the Ethiopianchangehis skinOr the leopardhis spots?[Then] you alsocandogoodWho are accustomedto doingevil.
Pashhurhad Jeremiahthe prophetbeatenand puthim in the stocksthat were at the upperBenjaminGate,whichwas by the houseof the LORD.
Then the officialsand allthe peoplesaidto the priestsand to the prophets,"Nodeathsentencefor thisman!For he has spokento us in the nameof the LORDour God."

While he was at the Gateof Benjamin,a captainof the guardwhose namewas Irijah,the sonof Shelemiahthe sonof Hananiahwas there;and he arrestedJeremiahthe prophet,saying,"You are goingoverto the Chaldeans!"
and Ebed-melechwentout from the king'spalaceand spoketo the king,saying,
They hatehim who reprovesin the gate,And they abhorhim who speaks[with] integrity.
Allthe landwill be changedinto a plainfrom Gebato Rimmonsouthof Jerusalem;but Jerusalem will riseand remainon its sitefrom Benjamin'sGateas faras the placeof the FirstGateto the CornerGate,and from the Towerof Hananelto the king'swinepresses.
"Sothe lastshall be first,and the firstlast."
then his fatherand mothershall seizehim, and bringhim out to the eldersof his cityat the gatewayof his hometown.
He shall fleeto oneof thesecities,and shall standat the entranceof the gateof the cityand statehis casein the hearingof the eldersof that city;and they shall takehim into the cityto them and givehim a place,so that he may dwellamongthem.
