So Jeremiahstayedin the courtof the guardhouseuntilthe daythat Jerusalemwas captured.
EventhoughI walkthrough the valleyof the shadowof death,I fearnoevil,for You are with me; Your rodand Your staff,they comfortme.
Then the wordof the LORDcameto Jeremiahthe secondtime,while he was stillconfinedin the courtof the guard,saying,
"But now,pleaselisten,O my lordthe king;pleaselet my petitioncomebeforeyou and do not make me returnto the houseof Jonathanthe scribe,that I may not diethere."
Then KingZedekiahgavecommandment,and they committedJeremiahto the courtof the guardhouseand gavehim a loafof breaddailyfrom the bakers'street,untilallthe breadin the citywas gone.So Jeremiahremainedin the courtof the guardhouse.
So they pulledJeremiahup with the ropesand liftedhim out of the cistern,and Jeremiahstayedin the courtof the guardhouse.
Then allthe officialscameto Jeremiahand questionedhim. So he reportedto them in accordance with allthesewordswhichthe kinghad commanded;and they ceasedspeakingwith him, sincethe conversationhad not been overheard.
So Nebuzaradanthe captainof the bodyguardsent[word], along with Nebushazbanthe Rab-saris,and Nergal-sar-ezerthe Rab-mag,and allthe leadingofficersof the kingof Babylon;
they even sentand tookJeremiahout of the courtof the guardhouseand entrustedhim to Gedaliah,the sonof Ahikam,the sonof Shaphan,to takehim home.So he stayedamongthe people.
Now the wordof the LORDhad cometo Jeremiahwhile he was confinedin the courtof the guardhouse,saying,
persecutions,[and] sufferings,suchas happenedto me at Antioch,at Iconium[and] at Lystra;whatpersecutionsI endured,and out of them allthe Lordrescuedme!
