"Thussaysthe LORDGodof Israel,Goand speakto Zedekiahkingof Judahand sayto him: "Thussaysthe LORD,'Behold,I am givingthiscityinto the handof the kingof Babylon,and he will burnit with fire.
Now in the ninthyearof his reign,on the tenthday of the tenthmonth,Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babyloncame,he and allhis army,againstJerusalem,campedagainstit and builta siegewallallaroundit.
He burnedthe houseof the LORD,the king'shouse,and allthe housesof Jerusalem;even everygreathousehe burnedwith fire.
"For I have setMy faceagainst thiscityfor harmand not for good,"declaresthe LORD."It will be giveninto the handof the kingof Babylonand he will burnit with fire."'
Thussaysthe LORDGodof Israel,"Behold,I am about to turnbackthe weaponsof warwhichare in your hands,with whichyou are warringagainstthe kingof Babylonand the Chaldeanswho are besiegingyou outsidethe wall;and I will gatherthem into the centerof thiscity.
They will be carriedto Babylonand they will be thereuntilthe dayI visitthem,' declaresthe LORD.Then I will bringthem backand restorethem to thisplace.'"
becauseZedekiahkingof Judahhad shuthim up, saying,"Whydo you prophesy,saying,Thussaysthe LORD,"Behold,I am about to givethiscityinto the handof the kingof Babylon,and he will takeit;
Behold,I am going to command,'declaresthe LORD,'and I will bringthem backto thiscity;and they will fightagainstit and takeit and burnit with fire;and I will makethe citiesof Judaha desolationwithoutinhabitant.'"
They will also bringout allyour wivesand your sonsto the Chaldeans,and you yourselfwill not escapefrom their hand,but will be seizedby the handof the kingof Babylon,and thiscitywill be burnedwith fire.'"
The Chaldeansalso burnedwith firethe king'spalaceand the housesof the people,and they brokedownthe wallsof Jerusalem.
