becausethey have not listenedto My words,'declaresthe LORD,'whichI sentto them againand againby My servantsthe prophets;but you did not listen,'declaresthe LORD.
"Thereforethussaysthe LORDof hosts,'Becauseyou have not obeyedMy words,
to listento the wordsof My servantsthe prophets,whomI have been sendingto you againand again,but you have not listened;
"They have turned[their] backto Me and not [their] face;though [I] taughtthem, teachingagainand again,they would not listenand receiveinstruction.
"Thereforethussaysthe LORD,'You have not obeyedMe in proclaimingreleaseeachmanto his brotherand eachmanto his neighbor.Behold,I am proclaiminga releaseto you,' declaresthe LORD,to the sword,to the pestilenceand to the famine;and I will makeyou a terrorto allthe kingdomsof the earth.
becauseof their wickednesswhichthey committedso as to provokeMe to angerby continuingto burnsacrifices[and] to serveothergodswhomthey had not known,[neither] they, you, noryour fathers.
"Hear,O earth:behold,I am bringingdisasteron thispeople,The fruitof their plans,Becausethey have not listenedto My words,And as for My law,they have rejectedit also.
"And now,becauseyou have doneallthesethings,"declaresthe LORD,"and I spoketo you, risingup earlyand speaking,but you did not hear,and I calledyou but you did not answer,
Seeto it that you do not refuseHim who is speaking.For ifthosedid not escapewhen they refusedhim who warned[them] on earth,muchless[will] we [escape] who turn awayfrom Him who [warns] from heaven.
