Indeed,there was alsoa manwho prophesiedin the nameof the LORD,Uriahthe sonof Shemaiahfrom Kiriath-jearim;and he prophesiedagainstthiscityand againstthislandwordssimilar to allthose of Jeremiah.
"As the LORDyour Godlives,thereis nonationor kingdomwheremy masterhas not sentto searchfor you; and when they said,'He is not [here],' he made the kingdomor nationswearthat they could not findyou.
He didevilin the sightof the LORD,according to allthat his fathershad done.
"In vainI have struckyour sons;They acceptednochastening.Your swordhas devouredyour prophetsLike a destroyinglion.
Then the officialssaidto Baruch,"Go,hideyourself, you and Jeremiah,and do not let anyone knowwhereyou are."
Kiriath-baal(that is, Kiriath-jearim),and Rabbah;twocitieswith their villages.
The borderextended[from there] and turnedroundon the westsidesouthward,from the hillwhich[lies] beforeBeth-horonsouthward;and it endedat Kiriath-baal(that is, Kiriath-jearim),a cityof the sonsof Judah.This[was] the westside.
Then the sonsof Israelsetout and cameto their citieson the thirdday.Now their cities[were] Gibeonand Chephirahand Beerothand Kiriath-jearim.
So they sentmessengersto the inhabitantsof Kiriath-jearim,saying,"The Philistineshave broughtbackthe arkof the LORD;comedownand takeit up to you."
From the daythat the arkremainedat Kiriath-jearim,the timewas long,for it was twentyyears;and allthe houseof Israellamentedafterthe LORD.
